Conciliator - Complex Investigations

Remuneration package of $75,000 - $85,000 per annum
Located in Melbourne CBD

The Public Transport Ombudsman Limited provides a free and independent dispute resolution services to people who use, or are affected by Victorian public transport services. An opportunity has become available for a permanent full time Conciliator - Complex Investigations.

Reporting to the Conciliation Manager, you will handle the receipt, investigation and resolution of complaints, generally involving legal and complex issues from commuters or those affected by the service provided by Victoria's public transport operators and related organisations which are members of the PTO.

To be considered for the role, you will have an understanding of the role of an independent industry-based ombudsman scheme, administrative investigation, the key principles of alternative dispute resolution and the working application of independence. You will also have experience as an analytical, lateral thinking problem-solver who has a demonstrated ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines. A tertiary qualification is required (a law degree would be highly regarded).
