Adam Boyce

Deputy Public Transport Ombudsman

Adam Boyce is Deputy Ombudsman. He joined the Public Transport Ombudsman (PTO) in March 2024, bringing with him 20 years expertise and leadership experience in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and investigations in the government and higher education sectors. Adam lives in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs and is a regular commuter on the Hurstbridge line.

Prior to joining the PTO Adam worked for La Trobe University, where as Director, Student Life, he oversaw of a portfolio of services and administrative functions including Student Conduct and Investigations, University Appeals, Safer Community and Student Leadership, Events and Graduations. Prior to that, he held senior advisor and conciliator roles at the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission. Adam has also worked for the Queensland Office of the Information Commission, and the Queensland Commission for Children, Young People and Child Guardian.  

Adam holds degrees in law and business, and qualifications in mediation and arbitration. He has a particular interest in the role that procedurally fair ADR processes can play in helping organisations – and individuals - achieve outcomes broader than the resolution of individual complaints.  He has extensive experience using ADR to drive broader systemic improvements and managing teams of ADR practitioners.
