Public Transport Ombudsman
Ann Jorgensen is Victoria’s Public Transport Ombudsman. She joined the Public Transport Ombudsman (PTO) as Deputy Ombudsman in December 2021 and was appointed Ombudsman in December 2023. Ann lives in Melbourne’s inner north and is a regular tram and train user.
Prior to joining the PTO, Ann’s extensive experience within Victoria’s community legal sector included five years as Principal Solicitor at the Mental Health Legal Centre. She also held senior policy roles at the Law Institute of Victoria and Victorian Law Reform Commission.
Ann’s passion is working with people to solve problems – both individual and systemic. Her work across community law, policy and dispute resolution has been informed by her interest in how people’s experiences can be a lens for looking at how systems work, and how they could be improved.
Ann holds Arts and Law degrees from the University of Sydney and a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She sits on the board of the Australasian Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Australian and New Zealand Ombudsman Association.
